It was in secondary school where Jill had her
first real taste of performing when she joined the
school’s military band and later formed her own
rock band.
At the age of 15, the young Jill began her journey
into song writing and has since written more than
50 originals to date. Her first break into song
writing was a charity album produced by her secondary
school for the Dover Hospice. For this charity album,
Jill wrote six of the eight songs. Driven her passion
and enthusiasm for music, Jill returned to her secondary
school after graduating to guide the students in
a song arranging competition for the 2001 National
Day.
Aside from song writing, the singer also finds
joy in rearranging cover songs and producing new
versions of oldies and current songs.
Jillian-Marie Thomas credits her mother as the
person behind her love for music. While growing
up, her mother always encouraged and indulged Jill’s
passion; letting her learn musical instruments which
included the guitar, piano, flute, piccolo, saxophone
and various percussion instruments.

Favourite quote:
I have my own quote that I
love. “Possimism” Made up this word to get me
through all the tough times in my life. It’s
a double dosage of positivism. It’s about always
looking at life with a positive attitude and
being optimistic regardless of what you’re facing.
