Marina Bohari

Don’t be fooled by Marina’s petite frame and quiet demeanor. When on stage, she transforms into a singing power house to be reckoned with. Despite being just slightly over 155cm in height, the shy 20-year-old as her friends and acquaintance describes her, commands the stage with such ease and confidence which easily captures the hearts of her audience.

An ardent fan of divas such as Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera whom she credits for her music inspiration; it was therefore not a surprise when the strong vocalist selected Gloria Gaynor’s “I will Survive” for the Semis and Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man” Grand Finals which eventually saw her winning Teenage Icon in 2007. Prior to Teenage Icon, she also took part in Singamania in 2005 and came in third place.

Aside from singing, Marina also aspires to be an actress one day. She has always found time to take part in annual school productions and has also acted in Superstar, in aid of the President’s Star Charity in 2006. Since graduating from Singapore Polytechnic, Marina has secured a supporting role in an upcoming show on Kids Central.

An avid dancer, who counts reading and sketching as her hobby, Marina hopes to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry beyond the shores of Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.
