Dominic has been involved in the local music scene
since he left Secondary School. He plays mostly
acoustic sets with his guitar and occasionally jams
and performs with rock band “15-Point”. His latest
love for the piano, classical music and opera has
led him to embark on a rather late journey through
piles of books on Music Theory.
He has played the lead role in the Musical Theatre
Society’s (now Musical Theatre Ltd) production of
Moon People as well as City of the Gods. Dominic’s
latest experience with World-in-Theatre’s Mishima
– Women in Love has reignited his love for not-so-musical
theatre and would like to get more involved in such
plays.
Dominic loves to travel. He also has a great affinity
with Southeast Asian history and culture, which
has led him to explore the different traditional
forms of music and dance of the region. The Apsara
Dance of Cambodia together with its pin-peat orchestra
have struck a chord in his heart the most, along
with other forms like Javanese dance and of course,
the greatest influence of most Southeast Asian dances:
Indian dance. Dominic actually wanted to take up
ballet when he was younger but was discouraged to
do so by friends and family. He now considers taking
up Bharata Natyam instead.

Your Interests?
Almost anything that’s interesting BUT
if I had to choose one thing specifically, I
think it’d be travelling. I don’t intend to
die before I see most of the world so I spend
hours on the internet reading up on different
countries, cultures and of course, their music! |
|
What makes you extremely happy?
Travelling to Cambodia with no idea about what
I was going to do there or how safe I was going
to be. The crazier thing was that everyone thought
I was on a guided tour, safety guaranteed! |
